A brave 16 year old from Andover will be opening his GCSE results in front of millions of people – live on the ITV show This Morning tomorrow (Thursday August 20th).

Tom Underwood is an apprenticeship at Be Wiser Insurance and needs 5 GCSES at Grade C to stay on.

“This seemed like too good an opportunity to miss,” said Tom who attended Harrow Way school in Andover. “Whether or not I was opening my results on TV or in front of my family I have to open them at some point and this sounds like fun.”

Tom has taken eight GCSES. Film and media, science, additional science, computer science, maths, English literature, English language and history. He’s predicted to achieve Bs and Cs.

“I am hoping that I get the grades and can stay on at Be Wiser,” said Tom.” I like being able to earn as I learn and I hope to work my way to being a team leader and then a manager.”

Mark Leeming, Programme Manager at Be Wiser said, “We are confident Tom will achieve his exam results and look forward to seeing him develop during his apprenticeship with us. We are offering a unique opportunity; something which no college or other local employer currently offers to young people.”
