Career Wiser goes Speed Dating
Bianca from the Career Wiser team visited Jonn Hanson Community School on Thursday 25th June, with a number of representatives from other local businesses to help facilitate their “Speed Dating Interview” event.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for the current year ten students to practice their interview technique, by facing actual interview questions from real-life employers and recruiters.
It was the first ever taste of an interview scenario for most pupils, so it was a useful exercise to help them understand the interview process, the reasons behind interviewing and what employers look for when choosing a job applicant.
Bianca interviewed several students throughout the day and was able to pose a number of tricky interview questions that the pupils had to think hard about. She also helped to facilitate the event by help by offering encouragement, coaching and constructive feedback.
The day was orchestrated by Work Experience Coordinator, Julia Pitt, and was highly successful. All of the facilitators were impressed with the students.
Careers Adviser, Lynn Richards and Assistant Head, Mike Adams said that they were looking forward to working with the Career Wiser team again in the future.
